CreateCutline - Terms of Sale and Licence
Last updated: August 28th, 2026 Published by: Myles Spandorf, California, United States Contact: info@createcutline.com
These terms cover your purchase and use of CreateCutline, a plug-in for Adobe Illustrator. Please read section 8, Limits of our responsibility - it matters more than the rest.
1. What you are buying
A licence to use the software. You do not own the software itself, and no copyright in it transfers to you.
The licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and lasts as long as you comply with these terms.
2. Seats and activation
Each licence key permits a set number of activations, shown at the time of purchase. One activation is one computer.
The software contacts our licensing provider to confirm your key when you activate it and periodically afterwards. If it cannot reach the server it keeps working for a grace period before asking you to reconnect.
If you replace or retire a computer, use Deactivate this machine in the software's information pane to free that seat. If you cannot - a failed drive, for instance - contact us and we will free it for you.
3. Free trial
The software may be used free for a trial period, stated in the software, on a single computer. The trial is offered so you can evaluate whether it suits your work. Once it ends a licence key is required to keep creating cutlines.
4. What you may do
- Install and use the software on as many computers as your licence permits.
- Use it for commercial production, including paid work for your own customers.
- Sell the cutlines and printed goods you produce with it. We claim no rights over your artwork or your output.
5. What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense, rent, or publish your licence key.
- Redistribute the software, in whole or in part, to anyone else.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with licence checking.
- Remove or alter our copyright and attribution notices.
You may decompile or reverse engineer the software only to the limited extent that the law where you live expressly permits despite this restriction.
6. Updates and support
Updates released during your licence term are included. We do not promise any particular update, feature, or delivery date.
Support is by email at support@createcutline.com, on a reasonable-efforts basis during normal working days.
7. Refunds
Licence keys are sold by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, and their refund process applies. Purchases on Adobe Exchange are processed through Adobe's marketplace and its payment provider, and refunds for those go through it. Either way, if the software does not work for you, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it or arrange the refund for you.
Nothing here removes any statutory right to a refund you may have where you live.
8. Limits of our responsibility - please read
CreateCutline generates cutting paths from your artwork. It is a tool, not a proof. Its output depends on artwork we cannot inspect and machinery we cannot control.
You are responsible for checking every cutline before you cut, print, or send anything to production. Look at it, and where the cost of being wrong is material, test it on scrap first.
The software is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties not expressly stated here, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for wasted material or media, machine or operator time, spoiled or reprinted jobs, missed deadlines, lost profit, lost business, or any indirect or consequential loss, however caused.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the licence in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Ending the licence
You may stop using the software at any time; deactivate it and delete it.
We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms - for example by sharing your key or circumventing licence checks - and we will tell you why. On termination you must stop using the software and remove it from your computers. Cutlines you have already produced remain yours.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future purchases and renewals. The terms you agreed to at the time of your purchase continue to apply to that purchase.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, United States, and the state and federal courts located in California have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you buy as a consumer rather than a business, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
12. Third-party components
CreateCutline includes Adobe Spectrum CSS, licensed under the Apache License 2.0. The notice is included with the software.
